  • We saw a story teller.  She is from Japan.  She taught some of us how to count in Japanese.  (AP)
  • She taught us how to look like you are actually behind a glass wall.  It's called 'mime'.  It is very cool.  (ES)
  • We planted oregano seeds in paper cups.  (ES)
  •  We made predictions about how many days it would be until our seeds sprout.  (MF)
  • The cups have holes in them.  (KD)
  • Our next Writing Workshop project will be making stories like Laura Numeroff.  Her most famous book is called "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie".  (AP)
  • The Laura Numeroff books are now on the shelf where the Dr. Seuss books used to be.  (SS)
  • KD was a great captain.  (MF)
  • Next week ED will be the captain.  (BS)
  • We took a math test on Unit 8.  (KB)
  • In gym we played a new game called Pirate Ship.  (JN)
  • Today we are having Game Day.  (EC)
  • I brought 2 shells from my trip to Atlantis to our classroom.  The shells were from Cove Beach.  (CH)
  • This week we were curious about why flamingos are pink.  (KN)  We got a magazine in the mail and it had flamingos in it so we started talking about their color.  (Miss D.)
  • We learned these facts about flamingos:  1.   In the olden days some countries used to eat flamingo tongues. (SS) 2.  Their feathers turn a pinkish-orangish color by eating shrimp and algae. (ES)  3.  In zoos, flamingos are given a chemical to eat which helps make them even pinker.  This is the same chemical that salmon fishers use to make salmon such a pretty color.  (Miss D.)  4.  Today Miss Dineen and KD both wore a pinkish-orangish color just like they were flamingos!!!!  (CC)  5.  Some people have tried taking those pink chemical pills, but instead of making them tan, they started to turn orange!  (RM)
  • Yesterday was Decision Day for our All About books.  (BS)
