Reindeer Day

This morning we learned a new poem/song called "The Reindeer Pokey".  We danced around the room like reindeer.

For Word Work, we are learning about verbs.  Verbs are action words.  We brainstormed some reindeer stable action words.  Some of the words we came up with are:  feeding them hay, brushing their fur, fly, exercise, cleaning hooves, packing the sleigh, sleeping in their stalls, and polishing the sleigh.

We also found a fun reindeer game.

The last week of 2012!!!

Last week's Cookie Exchange was a lot of fun.  This week we will have our Pajama Holiday Breakfast on Wednesday, December 19th at 9:30.

Thank you to our breakfast 'sponsors':

*Stockdale Family for the fruit salad
 *DeVicaris Family for the juice
*Martin Family for the paper products (cups, napkins, plates, forks)

Wearing pajamas (holiday themed or any favorites) is an option for Wednesday.  We do have gym and recess, so sneakers should be worn to school.  If your child would like to bring a pair of slippers to wear in the classroom, that is fine too!

It should be a cozy and festive day!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We will be finishing up many units of study before the break.  We have been busy, busy, busy this month learning and also getting into the spirit of the season with some holiday projects.

Jingle's Bakery Cafe

Jingle's Bakery Cafe will be open for business tomorrow for one day only!  We decided to name our classroom cafe after Jingle, our classroom elf.

We made three groups:  Gingerbreads, Candy Canes, and Jingle Bells.  Each group will get a chance to pack up a cookie tray to bring home, play Holiday Bingo, and to sit and sip some cocoa in the cafe.

It's going to be a fun and festive day!
