  • HB was a great captain.  (DG)

  • We had 3 half days.  On one day we went to SoNo Fieldhouse.  (CF)  We played kickball and soccer.  (DG)  The boys wore orange shirts and the girls wore pink shirts.  (KK)  The boys knocked over all the obstacles.  It was a great show!  (CH)
  • In gym we played a game called "Sit".  (JF)  We also played mat ball.  (AK)  We played basketball too.  (LMD)
  • In music class we learned a new song.  It will be in the First Grade Musical.  (AB)  We had to sit in a special order for the show.  (MC)  We also learned a song called "Don't Drop the Ball".  (CF)
  • Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day.  (MM)  We wore green clothes.  (EW)  If you didn't wear green, Miss Dineen would pinch you.  (CH)  Miss Ward looked like Lucky the Leprechaun from the Lucky Charms cereal box.  (KK)  We had some Lucky Charms for a special snack.  KL brought in mini-cupcakes with shamrock sprinkles.  (Miss D.)
  • In art we drew shapes that had patterns under them.  (KS)  We are making vases.  We have to color them in like Vincent Van Gogh.  (MC)  We learned that Vincent VanGogh cut off his ear.  (AK)  We made spring baskets.  (AMS)
  • Miss Ward brought in flowers.  (SM)  We put some green food coloring in a cup of water.  (KL)  We learned a song about plants.  (LMD)  We are waiting to see if the flowers turn green.  (CH)
  • It was my 7th birthday!  (AMS)
  • Today is Miss Almonte's bday.  (CH)
  • In math we learned about weights.  (JF)
  • In 1 hour we will have a Mystery Reader.  (EW)
  • Spring will begin this Sunday.  (MC)
  • It is finally warm and sunny!  Maybe as a fun Friday treat we will get an extra recess at the end of the day (only if we cooperate and get ALL of our work done).  (Miss D.)

Mystery Reader

EW's dad brought some great books to share with our class.

Mystery Reader

LD's dad was an awesome mystery reader!

Mystery Reader

LD's mom was a recent reader.  We enjoyed the visit!

Mystery Reader

KL's grandmother was a wonderful mystery reader.  It was too bad that KL was sick that day and missed it!

Animal Research Projects

We wrapped up our Non-fiction unit of study with animal research projects.  The groups read books about their animal, designed a poster with labeled body parts, made a list of fast facts and then quizzed our classmates.
